The renewable energy sector in Spain continues to grow with the recent announcement by Nordex Group of a new order for 24 N163/5.X turbines from Aquila Clean Energy.
This order is in addition to that of June 2024, when 21 turbines were ordered for the same project.
With this extension, the Baza wind farm, located in the province of Granada, will increase its total capacity to 265 MW.

Delta4000 turbine installation and maintenance

Starting in 2025, Nordex Group will install Delta4000 series turbines on 108-meter tubular steel towers.
This configuration is designed to maximize energy production and optimize the wind farm’s operational efficiency.
The contract also includes a 20-year Premium Service, guaranteeing ongoing maintenance and management of the turbines, thus ensuring their long-term performance.

An ambitious project and renewed confidence

Aquila Clean Energy’s decision to order a further 24 turbines testifies to the continuing trust between the two companies.
Patxi Landa, CSO of Nordex Group, expresses his satisfaction: “We are delighted that Aquila Clean Energy has exercised the extension option for the Baza wind farm. This is a strong incentive for our team to successfully complete this ambitious project.”

Impact on the Spanish renewable energy market

This significant project underlines the growing importance of renewable energies in Spain.
The total capacity of the Baza wind farm will make a substantial contribution to the country’s energy transition objectives.
This development also strengthens Nordex Group’s position in the Spanish market and illustrates Aquila Clean Energy’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
