Ameresco, Inc. a clean technology integration company focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy, has partnered with Sunel Group, an international energy project contractor, to bid on more than 1.5 GWp of projects in the United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, Spain and Romania.

Creation of Ameresco Energy Hellas S.A.

Ameresco, Inc. and Sunel Group have established Ameresco Energy Hellas S.A., which has already been selected by Cero Generation, a European solar energy developer, as the contractor for “Delfini”, a 100 MWp photovoltaic project in Greece, currently under construction. The new projects currently in the bidding phase are expected to exceed a contract value of more than US$500 million.

The combined knowledge of two experienced companies

This collaboration combines Ameresco’s and Sunel’s experience in engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of large-scale photovoltaic and energy storage projects. Together, they aim to offer complete solutions that will generate added value for project investors.

The projects to be built will contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions and increasing the share of renewable energy in the European electricity grid. The solar component of these projects will generate clean electricity, while the battery energy storage systems will provide grid stabilization services to improve grid reliability and resiliency.
