Alfa Laval has just received an order to launch the production of aviation biofuels in Europe.
The order includes high-speed separators and various compact heat exchangers, as well as other equipment, services and engineering.
Alfa Laval to deliver processing line to Europe
Alfa Laval has won an order to supply a processing line to an oil refiner in Europe by 2022.
It includes high-speed separators and compact heat exchangers, as well as other equipment, engineering and services.
Worth SEK 155 million (€15.22 million), it is designed to support the production of renewable diesel and jet fuels.
The order will supply a pre-treatment line that removes contaminants from greases and petroleum feedstocks.
This oil is then converted into renewable diesel and jet fuel.
Delivery is scheduled for 2022.
Renewable diesel and jet fuel, a major European challenge
Under the RED II directive (European Renewable Energy Directive), Europe must rely on energies such as renewable diesel and jet fuel.
Indeed, the directive calls for 32% of its total energy to come fromrenewable sources by 2030.
These energies therefore represent a major challenge for Europe if it is to meet its climate neutrality targets.
