A turning point in Qatar

Al-Kharsaa is the first solar power plant in Qatar. The project covers an area of 10 square kilometers and has a capacity of 800MW. The solar power plant is the work of a consortium comprising TotalEnergies and Marubeni.

The Al-Kharsaa solar power plant integrates LONGi Hi-MO series bifacial modules and a tracking system. It is part of Qatar’s “National Vision 2030”. In addition, the project is expected to provide 1.8 billion kWh of clean energy per year.

The solar power plant project should cover the electricity consumption of some 300,000 households. Thus, it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 900,000 tons. Jia Chao, President of the MEA region and LONGi’s CA, states:

A large-scale project
