Air Liquide signs Renewable Energies PPA with Vattenfall
1st PPA in the Netherlands
On March 18, Air Liquide signed its first contract with Vanttefall for the purchase of electricity from renewable sources in the Netherlands.
The contract covers 25 MW of offshorewind power capacity.
The 15-year contract will power the world’s largest oxygen production plant.
The plant is also located in the Netherlands, in the port of Moerdijk.
It is also the first to be adapted to renewable energies in the grid.
15% of the Group’s electricity consumption in the Netherlands
Thanks to this long-term contract, Air Liquide is supplied with renewable energy.
This is equivalent to 15% of the Group’s current consumption for its activities in the Netherlands.
The wind-generated electricity will save 750,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Reducing customers’ carbon footprint
This agreement will extend the range of low-carbon solutions at competitive prices.
This project will give customers the opportunity to add more renewable content to their end products.
They too will be able to reduce their CO2 emissions.
This new project enables Air Liquide to position itself among the leaders in energy transition.
The company aims to support the development of renewable resources to promote low-carbon consumption.
