AEP, American Electric Power, through its subsidiary Electric Power Co (SWEPCO), has just issued a series of invitations to tender.
These concern the purchase of renewable and short-term production capacity.
AEP launches 3 new calls for tender
SWEPCO has just published three new invitations to tender for the purchase of short-term renewable generation capacity.
The aim is to meet our customers’ renewable energy needs.
3000 MW of wind power and 300 MW of solar power
The first tender is for thepurchase of up to 3,000 MW ofwind power.
These resources must have a minimum capacity of 100 MW and be interconnected to the Southwest Power Pool (SPP).
These infrastructures must be located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas or Missouri.
The second involves the purchase of 300 MW of solar resources.
These must have a minimum capacity of 50 MW and be interconnected to SWEPCO‘s transmission system.
They must also be located in SWEPCO’s service territory.
250 MW of accredited short-term deliverable capacity
The latest call for tenders targets 250 MW of accredited deliverable capacity in the short term.
Proposals must include a minimum of 50 MW of SPP resources.
All proposals must be submitted by August 12, 2021.
Those selected will be subject to the appropriate regulatory approvals.
With these calls for tenders, the subsidiary will strengthen its presence on the renewable energy market in the United States.
