Acciona starts construction of the Celada Fusión wind farm in Palencia, Spain.
Planned output: 48 MW.
The project will require an initial investment of over 45 million euros, and will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2022.

Acciona orders 10 wind turbines for 136,000 MWh/year

The new wind farm will comprise 10 Nordex 149 wind turbines, which will be installed atop 125-metre-high steel towers.
These turbines, which are among the most powerful units developed for onshore wind power, are the first of their kind to be installed in Spain.
Celada Fusión ‘s annual production is estimated at 136,000 MWh of clean electricity, which will contribute to the decarbonization of the Spanish electricity mix and avoid the emission of 60,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The wind farm will offset the energy used for its construction in less than nine months.
The Celada Fusión project is located in the immediate vicinity of the Celada I and V wind farms, respectively 34 MW and 26 MW, which Acciona also operates in the region.

Environmental measures to limit the impact of the project

In parallel with the wind farm construction work, Acciona will implement environmental and social improvement initiatives, as it does for all its renewable projects.
The aim is to protect the ecosystem around the facility and preserve the region’s cultural and archaeological heritage, while reducing the visual impact on the landscape.
