Enviromena, a major player in renewable energy solutions, has obtained BCP Council approval for the Parley Court Solar Farm, a project covering 66 hectares in Christchurch, Dorset. This 42.43 MWp project marks an important development for the Reading-based company, increasing its energy production capacity. The project, in planning since November 2021, includes flood mitigation measures in collaboration with the Environment Agency. Once operational, the solar power plant will generate over 51,000 MWh per year, reducing energy costs and increasing reliability of supply for over 18,500 UK homes.

Strategy and outlook

Mark Harding, European Development Director at Enviromena, emphasized the importance of this approval for the company’s portfolio. Enviromena plans to submit around 200 MW of new projects in the coming months, with a further 300 MW expected by the end of the summer. This significant expansion reflects the company’s ambitious growth strategy in the renewable energies sector. BCP Council granted full planning permission for this project on June 18, demonstrating its proactive approach to energy initiatives. Harding praised the efficiency of the planning process, pointing out that the project will help meet local and national energy targets.

Market positioning

Enviromena manages and maintains over 300 MW of renewable energy assets and has over 2 GW of projects under development in the UK and Europe. The approval of the Parley Court Solar Farm strengthens the company’s position in the renewable energy market, supporting its strategy of growth and diversification of its energy portfolio.
This project illustrates Enviromena’s ability to carry out large-scale developments, reinforcing its competitiveness and leadership in the sector. As the company continues to develop its project pipeline, it is well positioned to capitalize on market opportunities and the growing need for renewable energies.
