Technique Solaire accelerates expansion with 58MW

Technique Solaire, a major player in renewable energies, strengthens its position in Europe with the acquisition of 58 MWp of photovoltaic projects in the Netherlands and Spain, and appoints Ignacio Rebollo as Managing Director for Spain.

Technique Solaire continues its international expansion, adding 58 MWp to its portfolio of projects under development in the Netherlands and Spain. These strategic acquisitions are designed to consolidate the Group’s presence in these key markets and increase its production capacity.

Netherlands: New acquisitions and first major installations

Technique Solaire recently acquired two “ready-to-build” photovoltaic projects in the province of Gelderland, totalling 26 MWp. These projects, located in Beuninguen (15 MWp) and Druten (11 MWp), significantly boost the Group’s installed capacity in the region. Construction of the Beuninguen power plant began in the first quarter of 2024, marking a landmark project for Technique Solaire in Europe. At the same time, the commissioning of the Group’s first floating photovoltaic solar power plant in Limburg, at BillyBird Park Drakenrijk, adds a further 7 MWp to its portfolio. The facility covers 4.3 hectares of water and produces 6.4 GWh of electricity per year, increasing Technique Solaire’s footprint in the Netherlands.

Spain: Strategic acquisition and team-building

In Spain, Technique Solaire has finalized the acquisition of eight “ready-to-build” photovoltaic projects in the Aragon region, totalling 32 MWp. Commissioning of these plants is scheduled for early 2025, adding to the Group’s portfolio of photovoltaic projects already under development in the country, equivalent to 400 MWp. To lead this expansion, Ignacio Rebollo has been appointed Country Manager. With over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector on the Iberian peninsula, he will oversee the development and expansion of Technique Solaire’s activities in Spain, strengthening the Group’s competitive position in this key market.

Growth strategy and outlook

The new acquisitions will enable Technique Solaire to increase its total installed capacity and strengthen its presence in Europe. Present in the Netherlands since 2018 and in Spain since 2022, the group is aiming for a capacity of over 700 MWp in these countries by 2030, mobilizing significant investments of 578 million euros. These initiatives are part of Technique Solaire’s overall strategy to reach 4 GWp of installed capacity by 2030, consolidating its position as a leader in the renewable energies market.
With these developments, Technique Solaire continues to affirm its dynamic growth strategy and strengthen its position in the European solar energy market, while increasing its production capacity to meet growing demand.
