European Energy announces the completion of its transaction with Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc. listed on the Tokyo and Nagoya stock exchanges. This strategic partnership is sealed by Mitsubishi HC Capital’s acquisition of a 20% stake in European Energy. As part of this operation, European Energy carried out a capital increase of 72,383,854 new shares, subscribed by a subsidiary of Mitsubishi HC Capital.

Financial and strategic impact

The transaction generates gross revenues of almost 700 million euros for European Energy. This substantial financial contribution is designed to strengthen the company’s balance sheet and support its continued growth. Mitsubishi HC Capital’s investment also includes the acquisition of approximately 2.8 million shares held by European Energy’s three main shareholders.

New governance and outlook

Keiro Tamate, Deputy Head of Global Environment & Energy Business at Mitsubishi HC Capital, was elected to European Energy’s Board of Directors at an Extraordinary General Meeting. Mr. Tamate, with his experience in the renewable energy sector and his international background, will assume the role of Senior Executive Vice President to lead and develop this strategic partnership.

Organizational change and strategic growth

As part of these strategic changes, Jens-Peter Zink, Executive Vice President, will assume an observer role on the Board. These organizational changes are aligned with European Energy’s strategic growth objectives, strengthening its position in Europe’s renewable energy sector.
