On March 28, EDF Renewables Brasil and Serena Geração concluded an exchange of shares in the Pirapora solar complex and the Ventos da Bahia wind farm. EDF becomes the sole owner of the Pirapora solar complex, while Serena takes full ownership of the Ventos da Bahia wind farm, marking the end of their joint venture in these projects.

Focus on the Pirapora solar complex

Located in Minas Gerais, the Pirapora solar complex is one of the largest in South America, with a capacity of 400 MWp. Entirely contracted via 20-year power purchase agreements, this complex has benefited from an investment of over R$2 billion, reinforcing EDF’s role in Brazil’s renewable energy sector.

Ventos da Bahia in a new light

The Ventos da Bahia wind farm, now under Serena’s control, illustrates the company’s commitment to wind power. With 108 turbines and a capacity of 365 MW, this park has seen a total investment of R$ 1.85 billion, demonstrating the importance of the financial collaboration with BNB and BNDES.
