Schneider Electric and Hy Stor Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the development of the Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub (MCHH) and other projects in the United States. Under the terms of the MOU, Schneider Electric will provide Hy Stor Energy with automation and security solutions, as well as AVEVA process software, AI optimization, weather analysis, predictive operations and digital energy management.

Objectives of the Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub

As the United States supports hydrogen innovation and development, the Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub aims to become the first global project of its kind, offering a reliable source of carbon-free hydrogen to a variety of industrial sectors. This initiative will give Hy Stor Energy customers access to safe, reliable and affordable green hydrogen, with no carbon footprint or methane emissions.

The impact of innovation on the energy transition

Laura Luce, CEO and founder of Hy Stor Energy, emphasizes innovation as a key element in improving the efficiency, safety and reliability of the Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub’s operations. Combining the physical and digital operations of renewable and storage assets is crucial to the energy transition. Schneider Electric, as a digital partner, plays an important role in the implementation of climate-aligned renewable hydrogen solutions, providing on-demand renewable energy to customers.

A shared commitment to sustainability

Schneider Electric and Hy Stor Energy share common goals in promoting sustainability in today’s energy landscape. In this agreement, Schneider Electric will act as the main automation and electrical contractor, and partner for digital energy management and automation solutions for Hy Stor Energy’s operations. This solution aims to provide 100% carbon-free energy, offering safe and reliable renewable energy on demand.

Through its long-term energy storage and renewable hydrogen platform, Hy Stor Energy develops complete ecosystem solutions for the production, storage and delivery of dispatchable renewable energy. Hy Stor Energy’s platform, combined with Schneider Electric’s digital energy management solutions, electrical components and automation solutions, could mark a new era of hydrogen innovation, accelerating the transition to a carbon-free future.
