Seven companies in Scotland and Orkney are committed to offshore renewable energy, supported by the Fit For Offshore Renewables (F4OR) program and funding from West of Orkney Windfarm. The F4OR program launches its first regional edition, selecting seven ambitious companies. Orchestrated by ORE Catapult with financial support from West of Orkney Windfarm, the program aims to equip these companies for the competitive offshore renewables market. The program’s duration of 12 to 18 months testifies to its commitment to sustainable success.

Sector diversity at the forefront

The selected companies, including Ocean Kinetics, Orcades Marine, Leask Marine, Aquaterra, Berkshire Engineering, Imenco UK, and Serimax UK, cover a wide range of skills. From engineering to marine management, offshore operations and underwater surveillance, their diversity illustrates the wealth of local potential. This variety guarantees a comprehensive approach to the challenges of offshore renewable energies.

Joint expertise and ambition

F4OR was developed in consultation with wind industry experts, with the aim of preparing companies for excellence. The transition of skills from traditional sectors such as oil and gas to renewables benefits from a structured framework. The program serves as a bridge for these companies, arming them for the growing demand of the offshore renewable energy market.
