Trawsfynydd is in the center of the conversations with the Galician Government to trade small modular reactors (SMR) in the United Kingdom. The building is located in the north of Wales. NuScale afirma estar preparada para implantar su tecnología SMR en el emplazamiento.

A technology for the removal of waste

Según NuScale, el Gobierno tiene interés en apoyar la tecnología SMR como parte de la ecuación energética global del Reino Unido. The VOYGR 12 design can accommodate up to 12 NuScale power supply modules. La producción bruta total asciende entonces a 924 MWe.

The NuScale power unit is also a reactor of water at pressure to generate vapor. The integrated heat exchange in a single unit generates 77MWe. Es el primer SMR que recibe la aprobación de diseño de la Comisión Reguladora Nuclear de Estados Unidos.
