Riberget, a wind power project located in the municipality of Ljusdal, Sweden, will benefit from the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform.

A renewed partnership

Riberget is an onshore wind project of the Swedish developer OX2, in partnership with Siemens Gamesa. The 70MW wind farm consists of 11 of these SG 6.6-170 wind turbines, with a hub height of 115 meters, from Siemens Gamesa. Thus, the objective is to make the most of the wind speeds in the region.

Siemens Gamesa’s 5.X platform has one of the largest rotors on the landscape. Thus, it allows customers to benefit from a competitive discounted energy cost. In addition, once the installation work is completed, Siemens Gamesa will maintain the Riberget wind farm for 35 years.

The Riberget project joins several other wind farms on which Siemens Gamesa has been working with its partner OX2 since 2010. Thus, all the parks account for a total of more than 600MW. In addition, the wind farm would be commissioned by the end of 2024.

A recent technology

Once installed, the Riberget wind turbines will provide enough electricity to power over 60,000 homes. In addition, the project would avoid the emission of 185,000 tons of carbon dioxide. In addition, this figure is equivalent to the planting of approximately 3 million trees.

The Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform has sold over 4.5 GW since its launch. 2.4GW supply Sweden. Thus, meets a certain success in the Nordic countries.

In early October, Siemens Gamesa, presents a new element of its 5.X platform. This is the SG 7.0-170. It offers a nominal capacity of up to 7MW.
