Enligth Renewable Energy announces that Björnberget has met the regulatory requirements to begin the process of commercial operation.

A successful project

Enlight Renewable Energy announces that its wind farm, located in northern Sweden, meets all regulatory requirements. The Swedish wind farm, with a capacity of 372MW, is the company’s largest operational project. In addition, it is also one of the largest wind farms in Europe.

The park consists of 60 wind turbines built by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Group. Each wind turbine has a capacity of 6.2 MW. Enlight Renewable Energy plans to commercialize the entire wind farm in the first quarter of 2023.

The Scandinavian market

Enlight Renewable Energy is already selling electricity on the Scandinavian market. The project company has a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA). As such, the agreement will be effective upon full commercial operation.

The contract stipulates that this company will purchase 70% of the electricity from the wind farm during the first five years. Over the last five years, the company will purchase the remaining 50%. In addition, NORDPOOL will purchase the remaining electricity produced.

A portfolio of 17GW of generating capacity

Enlight Renewable Energy is a leading international developer of renewable energy. The company is also an independent power producer. The group has been operating since 2008.

The company started as a business focused on developing new solar projects in Israel. Since the 2010s, Enlight Renewable Energy has become a global player and operates in over 10 different countries. The group is active in the three main sectors: solar, wind and energy storage.
