SunVest Solar is developing three collaborative solar projects in Illinois. These acquisitions are the first of many planned nationwide. The company is making progress toward its goal of developing clean electricity.

Tim Polz, SunVest Solar’s Director of Development, states:

“Collaborative solar is a key component for states, like Illinois, that are planning to transition to renewable energy. We are actively launching and acquiring community solar sites in 14 states, with more to come.”

All three sites have a capacity of 2 MWac. Projects like these are made possible by state incentives and programs. This includes solar renewable energy credits (SRECs). As well as the Illinois Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), signed into law by Governor Pritzker.

SunVest, which builds, owns and operates large-scale collaborative solar sites, is poised to grow along with the Illinois market.

SunVest has acquired nearly 90 MWac of projects in Illinois in collaboration with another developer. A partnership that to date has energized nearly 74 MWac of total solar projects or reached key notice of completion milestones. SunVest wants to acquire additional assets in the near future.
