Westbridge Renewable Energy has announced the development of five battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Alberta, adding a total capacity of 539 MWh to its international portfolio. These initiatives are part of a strategy to strengthen Canada’s energy infrastructure while addressing global energy transition goals.

Strategic Projects in Alberta

These new projects in Alberta benefit from site control, completed environmental feasibility studies, and interconnection applications approved by the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) under the Level 2 cluster process. These key steps ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.

Addressing Global Energy Challenges

Expanding energy storage capacity is crucial in the current context of the energy transition. BESS systems play a pivotal role in stabilizing electricity grids and integrating renewable energy. In Alberta, these projects support not only national climate goals but also the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.
