Towards sustainable, green energy

For Juan Diego Diaz Vega, wind power is one of Spain’s fundamental economic and environmental pillars. According to the new president’s forecasts, the sector will stand out greatly in the coming years.

“Wind power is a fundamental element in the Spanish energy mix, with multiple benefits that make it essential to bet on its activity as one of the instruments for reviving the Spanish economy. The strength of the Spanish wind power sector gives us optimism and confidence that it will be one of the sectors that stands out in the coming years for its contribution to Spain’s economic recovery”.

According to Invertia magazine, the AEE association and its associates welcomed the new president with open arms. His experience, skills and commitment to wind energy make him an important asset to the company.

“At AEE, we will work intensively with all stakeholders to affirm the importance of wind energy as a commitment to sustainable development, quality employment, local wealth generation, a complete and competitive value chain, resilience and financial strength, technological leadership and first-class international positioning.”

The basis for achieving ecological objectives

The new chairman is appointed at a crucial time for the sector. Now we need to lay the foundations for achieving our ecological objectives. These are set out in Spain’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030 for wind power. These achievements would enable Spain to meet part of their decarbonization targets.

“The coming years are transcendental and strategic for the future of the European economy and progress towards the 2030 decarbonization targets. The targets set out in the PNIEC indicate an annual increase in wind power capacity of 2,200 MW until 2030, which will be possible thanks to a highly competitive sector with the entire value chain located in Spain.”

Spain’s wind energy association thus welcomes a new leader, invested in the environmental cause, but also a network man who will be keen to deliver on his campaign commitments.
