Voltalia reached an important milestone in November 2021 with the signing of a groundbreaking agreement to develop the Shurkul complex in the Navoi region. This innovative project represents a first in Uzbekistan, combiningsolar, wind and battery storage, with a total capacity of 400 to 500 megawatts. This initiative aims to diversify the country’s energy mix and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels.

Voltalia wins contract for Sarimay solar power plant

In December 2022, Voltalia won a tender coordinated by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a branch of the World Bank, for the future Sarimay solar power plant in the Khorezm region. The 123-megawatt plant is a key element in the strategy to meet Uzbekistan’s growing demand for electricity.

Two cooperation agreements signed during State visit

On November 2, 2023, during the joint state visit by the French and Uzbek presidents, Emmanuel Macron and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Voltalia reached a new milestone by signing two crucial cooperation agreements. The first is an implementation protocol covering the future stages of the Shurkul hybrid project. The second is an extension protocol for the Sarimay project, approving the integration of a further 100 megawatts of wind power, accompanied by a battery storage system. These agreements demonstrate Voltalia’s commitment to supporting the transition to renewable energies in Uzbekistan.
