In Togo, the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed solar power plant will be expanded from 50 to 70MW. Dubai-based AMEA Power will also add a battery storage system. It will meet the demand for electricity at night.

The project is part of Togo’s National Development Plan, with the goal of providing universal access to electricity by 2030. The project will benefit from debt financing from the Abu Dhabi Export Office (ADEX). Created by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), it will grant $25 million to the Togolese Ministry of Economy and Finance.

It is part of the financing of the expansion of the complex and the addition of storage batteries. AMEA Technical Services, a subsidiary of AMEA Power, will manage the project in Togo. HE Sani Yaya, Minister of Economy and Finance of Togo, and HE Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD and Chairman of the ADEX Executive Committee for Exports signed the agreement.
