TagEnergy starts its first battery storage facility in the UK with the completion of Hawkers Hill. It is a 20MW/40MWh plant located near Shaftesbury in Dorset.

A partnership with Tesla

TagEnergy announces its first renewable energy project, Hawkers Hill Energy Park. The construction of the facility represents an investment, shared with Tesla, of £16 million. The company has more than 3GW in the UK, Spain, Portugal, France and Australia.

The project is supported by £6.4 million from Santander UK. The first MWh of the project is now being exported to the grid. Hawkers Hill Energy Park uses a Tesla Megapack and Tesla Autobidder AI lithium-ion battery system.

Energy transition

TagEnergy announces that the Hawkers Hill Energy Park operations will provide UK consumers with low cost, flexible electricity. Franck Woitiez, CEO of TagEnergy, says:

“Hawkers Hill Energy Park was the first investment we announced when we entered the UK market in 2021. Its completion is a key step in advancing our strategy. A strategy to accelerate the energy transition in the UK renewable energy market.”

In addition, the company announces an asset management agreement with RES for energy storage.

TagEnergy established in 2019 seeks to accelerate the energy transition by creating competitive and clean power plants. The company, majority owned by the Impala SAS group, is supported by investors Mirova and Omnes. Its activities range from financing to asset management of wind, solar and storage projects.
