In Tagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation is launching the construction of grid storage batteries .
A storage activity
In Tagawa, Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, specialized in wind and solar projects, is launching a new business initiative. The company innovates with a network storage activity. The project is based on its cultivated strengths in wind and solar power generation.
This commercial venture aims to stabilize the supply and demand of electricity. Indeed, this initiative aims to further promote the introduction of renewable energy. Thus, connecting batteries to the electrical grid allows electricity to be stored and used in case of shortage.
A first project
The Japanese government’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 requires the expansion of renewable energy. However, seasonal and meteorological impacts affect the amount of electricity produced. Come renewable energies increasingly require the use of batteries capable of responding to such fluctuations.
This project in Tagawa city will be the first of Eurus Energy Group in the field of grid storage batteries. The company will install lithium-ion batteries with a power of 1.5MW and a storage capacity of 4.58MWh. The Tagawa project is expected to begin commercial operations in December 2023.
