Stage One expands with Golden Plains

Stage One is expected to become the largest onshore wind farm in Asia Pacific, with the Golden Plains Wind Farm project.

Expansion of wind power capacity

Stage One will benefit from the partnership between TagEnergy and Vestas. The Golden Plains project is located in Victoria, Australia. It will have a power of 756MW.

With this project, Stage One will be home to Vestas’ largest wind farm in Asia Pacific, comprising 122 V162-6.2 MW turbines from the EnVentus platform. Golden PlainsWith the highest market share for installed capacity, Vestas currently maintains the largest number of wind turbines in Australia. This project will strengthen the company’s presence in the country’s clean energy market.

A major investment

The Vestas turbines are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2023. In addition, commissioning would begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. In addition, Golden Plains will generate clean energy to power approximately 450,000 homes per year.

To support the first phase of the Golden Plains wind farm, Vestas has leveraged its capabilities in site and technology design, financing solutions and grid connection. With our EPC and long-term service experience, we look forward to leading the completion of TagEnergy’s landmark project.”

The Stage One wind farm and its Golden Plains expansion represent a major decision forAustralia. Vestas maintains 160GW in 88 countries.

TagEnergy is building a portfolio of more than 3GW mainly in Europe. These activities cover the renewable energy value chain, from development to energy marketing. For the company, this is a major project.
