RES concludes a sale with SSE Renewables for the Aberarder wind farm in Scotland with a capacity of 49.9MW.

An expected project

RES, the world’s leading renewable energy company, announces the sale of its Aberarder wind farm to SSE Renewables. The project is located in Strathnairn in the Scottish Highlands. It consists of 12 turbines and has a total capacity of 49.9MW.

Aberarder’s project approved in 2017, contributes a more secure and diverse energy supply for Scotland and the UK. Aberarber Park is located near another wind farm developed by the RES group, the Dunmaglass. It has a total capacity of 94MW.

Lucy Whitford, Managing Director of UK&I, RES, says:

“RES is delighted to announce the sale of the Aberarder Wind Farm, marking another milestone in our long and proud history of developing outstanding renewable energy projects in the Scottish Highlands.”

RES is investing significantly in wind, solar, renewable hydrogen and energy storage development in the UK and Ireland. Thus, the sale of Aberarder reinforces the position of a leading investor in renewable energies.
