RES concludes a sale with SSE Renewables for the Aberarder wind farm in Scotland with a capacity of 49.9MW.

An expected project

RES, the world’s leading renewable energy company, announces the sale of its Aberarder wind farm to SSE Renewables. The project is located in Strathnairn in the Scottish Highlands. It consists of 12 turbines and has a total capacity of 49.9MW.

Aberarder’s project approved in 2017, contributes a more secure and diverse energy supply for Scotland and the UK. Aberarber Park is located near another wind farm developed by the RES group, the Dunmaglass. It has a total capacity of 94MW.

A broad portfolio of assets

RES is an independent renewable energy company. It is active in onshore and offshore wind energy, solar energy, energy storage, transmission and distribution. The company delivers over 23GW of renewable energy projects worldwide.

RES supports a portfolio of operational assets in excess of 10GW worldwide for a broad customer base. The group obtains 1.5GW of power purchase agreements (PPA) allowing access to energy at lower cost. RES employs more than 2,500 people and is active in 11 countries.

The company develops and builds 21 wind farms with a total production capacity of 597MW. The company employs over 100 people in Scotland alone. RES also operates its global control center providing continuous monitoring of assets from its Glasgow office.
