Redelio Renewables LLC, a new entity formed by Redelfi S.p.A. and Elio Energy Group LLC, plans to develop up to 2.4 GW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the United States. This strategic initiative is designed to boost the country’s energy storage capacity, in response to growing demand for energy management solutions.
Redelfi S.p.A., listed on the Euronext Growth segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, provides expertise in financial and project management. The Italian company already has two active 4.3 GW pipelines in Italy and 1.2 GW in the USA. Elio Energy Group LLC, a developer of large-scale renewable energy projects, focuses on developing greenfield projects to minimize risk and optimize costs. With a 7 GW pipeline, Elio Group brings solid technical and operational experience to the table.

Development objectives and strategies

The partnership between Redelfi and Elio Group will enable the development of a 2.4 GW pipeline of BESS projects, with 920 MW already identified in Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and Kansas. Redelfi will be in charge of financing, project management and financial supervision, while Elio Group will handle technical and operational activities.
“Redelio Renewables is the result of a fruitful collaboration with Elio Energy Group,” said Davide Sommariva, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Redelfi S.p.A. “We are convinced that this synergy will lead to the achievement of our ambitious goals.”

Expertise and Market Outlook

Daven Mehta, CEO of Elio Group, noted, “With over 20 years of industry expertise, we bring unique and innovative perspectives to every project. The creation of Redelio Renewables reflects our commitment to identifying key markets and working closely with local communities.”
Pandelis Vassilakakis, President of Redelio Renewables, added that this collaboration is an example of how major energy players can join forces to achieve common goals in the energy sector.
The aim of Redelio Renewables is to respond effectively to the growing demand for energy storage solutions in the United States. The North American market offers significant opportunities for the development of BESS, and the combined financial and technical expertise of the two companies positions Redelio Renewables optimally to capitalize on these opportunities.
The development of battery energy storage systems is essential for improving energy management and grid reliability. Thanks to the combined expertise of Redelfi and Elio Group, Redelio Renewables is well placed to become a key player in this field in the United States. The potential impact of these projects on the US market is significant, promising to improve storage capacity and support the continued growth of renewable energies.
