Powertis and ACEA collaborate to develop 340 MW of solar in Italy. Thus, the subsidiary of Soltec Power Holdings reached a capacity of 3.1 GW in Italy.

A cooperation between Powertis and ACEA

Powertis and ACEA sign agreement to develop 340 MW of solar in the country. ACEA is also focusing on renewable energy. It is targeting 747 MW of solar capacity by 2024. Thus, this is a strategic partnership for Powertis.

Raùl Morales, CEO of Soltec Power Holdings, states:

“Our vertical integration strategy is key to formalizing deals like the one we just signed in Italy. We are firmly committed to finding partners that add value to our assets. Geographic diversification that allows us to secure growth, take advantage of opportunities globally in different markets and minimize risk, while maintaining a relevant presence in Europe.”

Italy bets on solar energy

Powertis has increased its total capacity by 86% in 2 years. In fact, Italy is one of the sunniest countries in the world. It comes in 6th place before Australia.

This is a real asset for the energy transition. The government is therefore eager to develop any opportunity for energy supply. It is a question of finding alternatives to its energy dependence on Russian gas and oil. Italy currently covers 8% of its electrical needs with solar energy.

The Italian Energy Agency has awarded 300 MW of solar capacity in its latest tender. ACEA was one of the companies selected for their construction.
