Ørsted, acting on behalf of clients, announces the sale of 50% of the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm to AXA IM Alts Group. In addition, it is the largest wind farm in the world located in the United Kingdom.
A significant impact
Ørsted, despite this sale of shares, assures that this does not change their previous financial forecast for the year 2022. In addition, the company confirms the same investment for the same year. The Hornsea 2 wind farm is a great success for the company and complements the Hornsea 1 project.
The company was also in the process of selling 50% of Hornsea 1. The wind farm meets the energy needs of over 3 million people. Both parks are part of Ørsted’s vision to advance renewable energy.
Objective 2030
Ørsted aims to have a net positive impact on renewable energy biodiversity by 2030. Currently, the Danish company is the most sustainable energy company according to the Corporate Knights Report 2022 Index. This index ranks the 100 most sustainable companies in the world.
For Ørsted, environmental protection also means jobs and profits. Its turnover for the year 2021 is DKK 77.7 billion, or €10.4 billion. Finally, the company employs 7292 people.
