Nordex develops the Kantow Wind Farm

Nordex receives an order from wpd for 31.5 MW in Germany. The Kantow wind farm will benefit from this contract. Germany continues its energy transition in the context of an energy crisis. Nordex continues to grow in Germany.

The Nordex Group has received an order for 31.5 MW in Germany from its regular customer wpd. The Nordex Group will supply seven N149/4.X turbines of the Delta4000 series for the Kantow wind farm.

Nordex develops Kantow wind farm

The Kantow wind farm will then benefit from wpd’s order with Nordex. It also includes a premium service contract for the maintenance of the turbines over 15 years. As well as an option to extend for an additional five years.

The 31.5 MW Kantow wind farm is being built in Brandenburg, about 90 kilometers from Berlin. The turbines, rated at 4.5 MW, will be installed on hybrid towers with a hub height of 164 meters in the summer of 2023.

The companies Wpd and Nordex

The development of the Kantow wind farm is then done by wpd and Nordex. The company wpd develops and operates onshore wind farms and solar farms. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Bremen, the German company is active in 28 countries worldwide.

It has implemented wind energy projects with approximately 2,550 wind turbines and a capacity of 5,740 MW. The project portfolio includes a total of 13,870 MW of onshore wind and 2,300 MW of solar.

The Nordex Group, which is involved in the Kantow wind farm, has installed more than 41 GW of wind power capacity in more than 40 markets. In 2021, it generated revenues of 5.4 billion euros. The company currently employs approximately 9,000 people.

The company’s joint manufacturing capability includes plants in Germany, Spain and Brazil. As well as in the United States, India and Mexico.
