Gas consumption in France has recorded a significant decrease of 6.2% in 2022 compared to 2021. This decrease is the result of consumers' sobriety efforts as well as high gas prices. The decrease is even more notable when weather conditions are taken into account, amounting to 9.3% for a total consumption of 430 TWh. However, this decline was largely mitigated by the high use of gas in power plants, which increased by 54.4% to 61 TWh for the year.
