Macquarie Asset Management is providing €100 million of debt financing to Green Bidco, the controlling company of Falck Renewables.
Debt financing
Macquarie Asset Management, on behalf of its institutional clients and managed funds, provided financing to Falck Renewables. The investment bank’s debt financing amounts to €100 million. The loan will supply Green Bidco, the controlling company of the Falck Renewables Group.
Falck Renewables is a developer, owner and operator of renewable energy plants in Europe and the United States. The company has a portfolio of 62 wind, solar, waste-to-energy and energy storage projects. Thus, the whole represents 1420 MW of combined capacity in 2022.
Funding opportunities
Falck Renewables estimates that the portfolio will avoid the emission of 550,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year. This is equivalent to supplying over 814,000 households in the UK with clean energy. Thus these results are in line with the objectives of carbon neutrality in the areas in which Falck Renewables operates.
Macquarie Asset Management monitors portfolio performance across environmental, social and governance factors. The private credit offering includes $11.4 billion in assets under management. In addition, the investment bank’s recent activity includes a £275 million refinancing of a UK solar energy portfolio.
