The United States recorded a 2.4% increase in greenhouse gas emissions in 2025, after two consecutive years of decline. According to a Rhodium Group analysis, this rise outpaced the country’s economic growth rate. Low temperatures at the start of the year and the expansion of digital infrastructure are among the main factors identified by analysts.
