Global investment in the energy transition reached a record $2.3 trillion in 2025, according to the annual Energy Transition Investment Trends report published by BloombergNEF (BNEF). This 8% increase from 2024 occurred amid trade disruptions and geopolitical tensions. Electrified transport represents the largest investment category with $893 billion spent on electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, up 21% year-on-year.
