ECO STOR has announced plans to build a new site in Schuby, Schleswig-Flensburg. Scheduled to begin in November 2024, this initiative will add 103.5 MW and 238 MWh to the company’s storage capacity, consolidating its presence in the German market. This project is part of ECO STOR’s overall strategy to develop storage infrastructures to meet the growing demand for renewable energy. The Schuby site will be equipped with the ECO STOR ES-100C model, divided into 64 lithium-ion battery containers and 32 conversion stations. This installation will enable ECO STOR to effectively manage fluctuations in energy supply and demand, an essential asset for dynamic energy markets.

Optimizing Energy Infrastructure

With this new site, ECO STOR aims to maximize the use of existing infrastructures and minimize operating costs. The choice of location, in direct proximity to the Schuby West substation, facilitates connection and integration into the grid. This project represents a strategic investment that will enable ECO STOR to strengthen its capacities while benefiting from the synergies offered by its other sites, notably those at Bollingstedt, Wengerohr and Förderstedt. Georg Gallmetzer, CEO of ECO STOR, comments: “This project is a crucial step in our expansion in Germany. By increasing our storage capacity, we are better positioned to meet the fluctuating needs of the energy market and offer more reliable storage solutions to our customers.”

Growth and Profitability Outlook

Commissioning of the new facility is scheduled for 2025, with prospects of rapid profitability thanks to growing demand for energy storage solutions. Current market conditions and forecasts indicate a significant increase in demand for infrastructures capable of managing renewable energy efficiently. ECO STOR is a key player in meeting these needs, with a robust infrastructure and advanced technologies. Collaborations with local partners such as EPW GmbH, which specializes in regional project development, ensure smooth, efficient implementation. Strategic planning and community support play a crucial role in the success of this project. ECO STOR’s Schuby energy storage project is proof of its commitment to strengthening its position in the energy storage market. This strategic project offers promising prospects for the company’s future growth and the strengthening of its operational capabilities in Germany.
