In France, the government has announced €435 million in funding for the decarbonization of the aeronautics sector.

A specific financing

In France, the government, under the impetus of the President of the Republic, aims to produce the first low-carbon aircraft in 2030 . The Minister of Transport has announced the commitment of a €435 million budget dedicated exclusively to decarbonizing the aeronautical industry. The Minister made this announcement on the occasion of the Ministerial Council for Civil Aeronautics Research.

At that time, the Council brought together representatives of the aeronautics industry in Toulouse, at the Airbus site. Moreover, this measure is part of the France 2030 plan. The funding should enable the sector to accelerate the Research and Technology projects that are essential for decarbonization.

A mobility issue

In this way, France intends to maintainFrance intends to maintain the momentum it has built up since 2020 under the Aeronautics Support Plan. Clément Beaune, Minister Delegate in charge of Transport, said:

“The decarbonization of aviation is not an option, it is an obligation. To support the sector in this transition that is essential to its future, the Government is committing significant resources and will work with industry players so that they can collectively meet the ambitious commitments that have been set.”

These significant resources mobilized commit the sector to achieving the ambitious goals needed to meet the decarbonization challenge.

Indeed, the main challenge for the transformation of air transport in the years to come is its decarbonization. These measures are therefore aimed at meeting the challenge of the ecological transition. Finally, they aim to meet travelers’ expectations in terms of sustainable mobility.
