In the energy storage industry, technological advancements are redefining standards. Large-capacity batteries have become a priority to meet the growing demand for energy density and sustainability. In this context, EVE Energy has distinguished itself by producing the first 628 Ah battery, a major innovation reshaping the sector.

On December 10, 2024, EVE Energy inaugurated the first phase of its 60 GWh super energy storage factory in Jingmen, Hubei, called “Mr. Big.” This industrial site, the largest in the industry with an annual capacity of 15 GWh, far surpasses the capacities of Japanese and Korean companies, which peak between 3 and 4 GWh. The commissioning of this factory marks a turning point in the production of large-capacity storage batteries.

An Unprecedented Technological Breakthrough

Since 2022, while the market focused on 280 Ah batteries, EVE Energy invested in the development of more advanced cells, reaching a record capacity of 628 Ah in just two years. This technological leap reduces system integration costs, improves energy density, and simplifies assembly processes, a critical advantage for the industry.

To address challenges related to thermal management and the efficiency of large-capacity batteries, EVE Energy collaborated with Wuhan University. Together, they designed an innovative electrochemical model optimizing electron flow by reducing internal resistance, thereby limiting overheating risks.

An Innovative Manufacturing Facility

The 60 GWh super energy storage factory integrates advanced automation technologies and low-carbon processes. Its production line, capable of manufacturing 1.5 cells per second, demonstrates unmatched efficiency. Every day, it produces the equivalent of 40 containers of 5 MWh, or 1 GWh in just five days, meeting the annual electricity consumption of 300,000 households.

EVE Energy also introduced a Parts Per Billion (PPB)-level quality management system by adopting stringent standards and ensuring complete traceability with the “battery passport” provided for each product. These measures guarantee the reliability and durability of the manufactured cells.

Safety at the Core of Innovation

EVE Energy unveiled its intelligent battery cell technology, capable of real-time monitoring of critical parameters such as temperature and gas formation. By detecting anomalies as they arise, this technology offers enhanced safety, meeting the market’s need for reliable and efficient solutions.

A Key Player in Energy Transition

The commissioning of this factory and the production of the 628 Ah battery position EVE Energy as a key leader in energy storage. By tackling capacity and safety challenges, the company directly contributes to the global energy transition and sustainable development.
