Eolus has launched a strategic review of its offshore activities with the aim of creating the best conditions for enabling and realizing projects.
Eolus aims to expand its offshore wind portfolio with ambitious projects.
At March 31, Eolus had an offshore wind portfolio comprising nine projects with an estimated capacity of 10,000 MW. In addition, Eolus is developing several other offshore projects that are at an earlier stage of development.
Offshore projects are located in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States. In July, Eolus submitted the environmental permit application for the 1000 MW Västvind project, west of Gothenburg in Sweden, to the government and the Land and Environment Court. Permit applications for other offshore projects are expected shortly. The strategic review includes the possibility of seeking a strategic partner with the skills and resources needed to accelerate the development and realization of offshore projects.
We want to do everything we can to increase the success rate of our offshore projects. Part of this is making sure that we have the necessary resources in all areas and can keep the development process moving at high speed,” says Per Witalisson, CEO of Eolus.
