Enfinity Global Inc., a leading player in the renewable energy sector, has unveiled the expansion of its battery energy storage systems (BESS) portfolio with the addition of two new projects in Texas. These projects, with a combined capacity of 425 MW, are located in the Houston and Dallas zones of the ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) system, a market known for its rapid development and high demand for renewable energy. The projects are expected to begin construction in the second and fourth quarters of 2025.

These new installations will have a storage capacity of 850 MWh, with a two-hour storage duration. They are strategically positioned to meet the increasing energy needs in Texas, particularly driven by the demand from AI-powered data centers. The projects, once operational, are expected to help stabilize the ERCOT grid and support renewable energy expansion to meet the state’s growing electricity demand.

A Strategic Expansion to Meet Growing Demand

Enfinity Global announced that these additions will bring its U.S. BESS portfolio to 6.6 GW, further solidifying its position in this expanding sector. The company plans to invest over $7 billion and create more than 5,000 jobs in the construction sector in the coming years. These investments are aligned with Enfinity’s goal of deploying innovative energy solutions to meet the growing demands from industries like AI and manufacturing.

A Commitment to the U.S. Energy Sector

Texas, in particular, is experiencing unprecedented growth in electricity demand, making energy storage solutions especially critical to ensure grid stability. According to Enfinity, the planned projects will help stabilize the grid and support the expansion of renewable energy, allowing for better management of the state’s energy needs.

A Promising Development for the Future

Enfinity Global, a U.S.-based independent power producer (IPP), already has a portfolio of 400 MW in operational assets. In addition to the projects underway, the company is currently developing 19 GW of solar photovoltaic and energy storage, with another 37 GW in negotiation. Enfinity expects to have over 1 GW of solar and storage assets operational and under construction in the U.S. in 2025.
