Énergir has announced the launch of Énergir solution géothermie, s.e.c., a subsidiary fully dedicated to the installation of geothermal systems in Québec homes. This move aligns with the company’s investment strategy to diversify its energy assets and strengthen its presence in the residential segment.
A targeted investment in energy performance
The subsidiary will offer turnkey solutions, from system design to installation and commissioning. The geothermal system harnesses energy from the ground to provide heating and cooling for buildings. This technology consumes three to four times less electricity than standard electric systems, making it an efficient option amid rising energy demand.
According to Énergir, households relying entirely on electricity can reduce up to 60% of their heating costs using this system. The company is leveraging Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert programme to increase adoption by lowering the financial barrier for homeowners.
An integrated model supported by local partners
Énergir solution géothermie will work with local contractors to deploy its projects. This collaboration aims to strengthen the regional geothermal supply chain while leveraging Québec’s technical expertise. The company intends to build a competitive offering that meets growing residential demand.
The chosen approach enables Énergir to create value across the entire chain, from customer acquisition to on-site system delivery. The subsidiary’s Managing Director, Valérie Boulard, stated that the goal is to help homeowners “make a simple, informed and long-term beneficial energy choice.”
