The consortium has been successful in developing wind farms with a total capacity of 762.5MW. In Egypt, the partners completed the Ras Ghareb wind farm, with a capacity of 262.5MW. In addition, the completion of the work would occur, in October 2019, two months ahead of schedule.

A renewed partnership

At the end of October 2022, the partners laid the foundation stone for another 500MW wind farm. This new park is also located on the shores of the Gulf of Suez, 40 km northwest of Ras Ghareb, Egypt. The project will power about 800,000 Egyptian homes and reduce CO2 emissions by about 1 million tons per year.

The consortium’s wind farms will significantly support Egypt’s decarbonization efforts. They will contribute to the country’s renewable energy production goals. Indeed, the country aims to have 42% of its electricity generated from renewable sources by 2030.
