Black & Veatch is awarded the development of an initial 2GW of solar and battery storage by Amberside Energy.
A framework agreement
Black & Veatch will provide technical consulting and support services. These services are part of Amberside Energy’s solar and storage portfolio framework agreement. The contract covers stand-alone solar panel, battery, and solar photovoltaic panel and battery sites co-located in the UK.
At the same time, the company will plan and design the power distribution and transmission assets. The company will also manage the interfaces with National Grid and the distribution network operators. Robbie Gibson, associate vice president and UK director of Black & Veatch, says:

Recognized expertise
The company’s role also includes creating independent estimates of energy production for each site. In addition, projects must have a capacity between 20 and 100MW. Marc Scambler, CEO of Amberside Energy, states:

Black & Veatch is involved in over 49,000MW of solar projects worldwide. The company has experience with over 16GWh of battery energy storage system projects. To provide Amberside Energy, the company will draw on the expertise of its global energy business.
