Baker Hughes signs two new flexible pipe contracts with Petrobras.
The two companies confirm their long-standing collaboration and position in the Brazilian oil market.
Baker Hughes supplies 322 km of piping
Baker Hughes wins two new flexible piping contracts with Petrobras.
The first covers 96 kilometers of flexible piping for the Sapinhoá and Tupi oil fields.
The second contract covers 226 kilometers for the Marlim 2 and Itapu fields.
The flexible piping will be used for multiple operations in Brazil’s offshore fields.
These include gas injection and water injection lines.
Baker Hughes solutions are designed to ensure reliable connections and optimum flow under high pressure.
These technologies operate in extreme conditions of temperature and corrosion.
A long-standing partnership
This is not the first time that Petrobras has ordered flexible piping from Baker.
Their partnership has lasted several years.
A first flexible pipe contract was signed at the beginning of 2021 for the Buzios field, in which TechnipFMC of France is participating.
In the first half of 2021, Petrobras ordered 370 kilometers of flexible piping from Baker Hughes.
The 2021 contracts represent more than all the 2019 and 2020 flexible pipe orders between the two partners.
This year, Petrobras and Baker Hughes confirm their positions in Brazil’s offshore oil fields.
Five fields operated by Petrobras are or will be equipped with Baker Hughes flexible piping.
Piping and subsea equipment
The strong partnership between Barker Hughes and Petrobras is not just about flexible piping.
A contract was recently signed for subsea equipment to revitalize the Marlim and Voador fields.
Another contract concerns the Mero 4 field.
Adyr Tourinho, vice-president of Barker Hughes in Brazil’s oilfield equipment department, underlines the strength of the partnership.
“These back-to-back contracts reflect our strong capabilities and the relationship we have developed with Petrobras as a trusted partner.”
The growing number of contracts underlines the strength of the trust-based partnership between Baker Hughes and Petrobras.
The two partners also confirm their position in Brazil’s offshore oil fields.
