Aquila Capital is advising a Swiss investment foundation on the acquisition of an operating onshore wind farm in Sweden.
A Swedish wind farm
Aquila Capital is advising a Swiss investment foundation in the acquisition of a 24MW operating wind farm. The wind farm is located in the southwest of Sweden. In addition, the seller of the asset is under the management of Prime Capital AG, which specializes in alternative investments.
The 24MW wind farm produces enough electricity to power the equivalent of 22,500 homes per year. The asset is already in operation and contributes to the climate objectives. Revenue streams from the injection of the green electricity produced will be generated with immediate effect.
Recognized expertise
With this acquisition, Aquila Capital strengthens its position as a leading asset manager in the renewable energy sector. Indeed, the sustainable investment and asset development company is present in the Nordic countries. Maurice Jäckel, Senior Manager, Partnership and Portfolio Advisory at Aquila Clean Energy EMEA, Aquila Capital’s clean energy development platform in Europe, said:
“Because of its exceptional location, less than 100 km from the Baltic Sea and close to Sweden’s largest lake, Lake Vänern. This wind farm has a capacity factor comparable to some offshore wind farms. We are excited to add a wind farm with such a high production profile.”
Aquila Capital currently manages over €13 billion on behalf of institutional investors worldwide. Carbon neutral since 2006, the company aims to take action to reduce carbon emissions. In addition, the group manages wind, solar, photovoltaic and hydroelectric assets with a capacity of 11.1GW.
