Alfa Laval, a specialist in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid management, has stepped up its operations in the hydrogen field. The company has enriched the market with technical advances in electrolyzers and fuel cells over the past three years.
New Hydrogen Division
A dedicated hydrogen business unit has been set up at Alfa Laval, with the aim of focusing research and development efforts on hydrogen applications. This initiative is part of a collaborative approach with major industrial players.
Technical Expertise for Hydrogen
The company is banking on its expertise in heat transfer and metallurgy to position itself in the hydrogen economy. CEO Tom Erixon emphasized the importance of this new branch in meeting the needs of a fast-changing energy market.
Center for Construction Innovation
An Innovation Center is under development at Alfa Laval’s headquarters in Lund. The center will focus on innovation and development of heat exchangers, fuel cells and electrolyzer components.
Madeleine Gilborne, currently in charge of Clean Technologies and Vice President of the Energy Division, will head up the new business unit, which will be integrated into the Energy Division from January 1, 2024.
Alfa Laval thus continues to expand in the hydrogen sector, drawing on its technical expertise to meet the demands of an energy market in transition.
