Albioma wins new electricity sales contract

Albioma’s Brazilian subsidiary has won a tender for a new 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The contract will start in 2025, for a volume of 64 GWh and a price of €33.5/MWh indexed to inflation.
The contract will be honored by increasing the volume of bagasse (fibrous residue from sugarcane crushing at the sugar mill) and vinasse (by-product of the sugar and ethanol industries).
The company’s production is already sold on the regulated market under long-term contracts.

An effective partnership

Located in the state of Goias, Codora Energia (68 MW) was acquired by Albioma in 2015, with a 65% stake.
It is backed by a sugar mill/distillery owned by the Jalles Machado group.
Since the partnership began in 2015, energy exports have risen by 40%.
This increase is due to the improved industrial performance of Albioma’s assets, as Machado installed a sugar mill to complement the distillery.
With this new call for tenders, the company has secured the sale of energy from its plant.
What’s more, it demonstrates the effectiveness of its partnership with the Jalles Machado group.
