Wayne T. Smith is elected to the Air Products Board of Directors, effective August 1, 2021.
He has over 35 years’ experience in industrial gases and chemicals in several companies.
He is accustomed to executive and senior management positions.

Wayne T. Smith

Mr Smith was CEO of BASF Corporation from May 2015 until recently.
He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the parent company, BASF SE, since 2012.
He has also been responsible for many areas of the company since joining in 2004.
Prior to BASF, Wayne T. Smith was Vice President and General Manager of the Specialty Construction Chemicals business at WR Grace.
He also worked with the BOC Group, eventually becoming vice-president and general manager of the packaged goods business.
Mr. Smith graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
He also graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Business Administration.
