Air Liquide and Eni join forces to develop green energies
Air Liquide and Eni have signed a letter of intent to formalize their partnership.
This will give rise to a feasibility study on the development of a renewable hydrogen supply chain.
The hydrogen will be used to supply the fuel cell vehicle market.
“Decarbonizing the transport sector is one of the major challenges of the energy transition. Setting up a network of hydrogen filling stations is an essential step towards achieving this. With our long-standing partner Eni, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable future thanks to hydrogen,” said Pascal Vinet, Senior Vice-President of Air Liquide.
“This agreement with Air Liquide represents a new step in the promotion of sustainable mobility. The decarbonization of transport must be based on synergies and complementarity with existing technologies. In early 2022, Eni will inaugurate the first hydrogen station in an urban environment in Italy. Our agreement with Air Liquide will strengthen cooperation between operators on the road to energy transition,” added Giuseppe Ricci, General Manager Energy Evolution at Eni.
Air Liquide and Eni will also identify the best locations for hydrogen stations in Italy.
