AEP Energy is seeking partners to operate new solar, wind and battery energy storage facilities.
The facilities are located in the service area of PJM, transmission system operators in the northeastern United States.
AEP Energy turns to renewable energy
As an electricity and natural gas supplier, AEP serves over 700,000 residential and commercial customers.
The company also specializes in offering products related to the specific supply of its customers’ electrical systems within ERCOT, MISO, PJM and SPP.
The company also sells renewable energy under long-term contracts with utilities, cooperatives, municipalities and businesses.
It currently owns more than 1.9 GW ofrenewable energy.
Electricity production from these facilities is distributed at both utility and retail levels.
New agreements for 10 to 15 years
AEP is now seeking 10 to 15-year renewable energy purchase agreements.
The solar and wind installations concerned will start operating between 2022 and 2024.
Proposals must be received no later than Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
