Major advances for Green Hydrogen Project in Spain: Supply Agreement Announced

The hydrogen will be produced in a 2.5 MW green hydrogen project in Toledo, Spain, which Fusion Fuel plans to develop in 2024. Earlier this year, the project received a 3.3 million euro grant from Spain’s H2 Pioneros program. The long-term supply agreement provides for the supply of 111.5 tonnes of green hydrogen per year. It marks another milestone in the development of the project prior to the SDIF. This is also Fusion Fuel’s first green hydrogen purchase contract in Spain. And, above all, a tangible commitment by one of Spain’s largest companies to make decarbonization a strategic priority.

Commenting on the agreement, Javier Esteban, CEO of Fusion Fuel Spain, said, “We are delighted to announce this agreement with another pioneering company in the green hydrogen energy transition, particularly as this project involves the decarbonization of an off-grid project, An application for which our modular technology and decentralized approach are particularly well suited. We’ve focused on emerging hydrogen use cases, but to drive decarbonization forward, we also need to tackle traditional industrial segments.” Frederico Chaves, CEO of Fusion Fuel, added,

“This agreement is an important step in the execution of our differentiated business strategy of providing end-to-end hydrogen solutions, from advanced electrolyzer technology to turnkey project development and hydrogen sales. This contract helps us expand our footprint in industrial decarbonization and brings us closer to monetizing the value we created in developing the project.”
