EverWind Fuels announces the acquisition of three wind farm development projects in Nova Scotia. These wind farms represent a private investment of $1 billion and a total capacity of around 530 MW. The aim of these projects is to generate renewable energy to fuel the first phase of EverWind’s green hydrogen and ammonia project.

EverWind: Wind Farm and Green Hydrogen, a Major Lever for Energy Transition

The newly acquired wind farms will offer several important advantages. From an economic standpoint, they will create around 650 jobs during the construction phase and 30 full-time positions in Nova Scotia. What’s more, these wind farms will contribute to the province’s goal of producing 80% renewable energy by 2030. They will increase the province’s clean energy generation capacity and support its energy transition to renewable sources.

EverWind plans to use the electricity generated by these wind farms to power its green hydrogen and ammonia production facility. This plant will play a key role in the development of Canada’s green hydrogen economy. EverWind’s hydrogen and ammonia products will meet the most stringent international standards. This concerns green fuel standards, including the European RFNBO criteria.

Key Partnerships for EverWind Wind Farms in Nova Scotia

For the development and construction of the wind farms, EverWind has teamed up with Renewable Energy Systems Ltd (RES), a company specializing in renewable energies. RES has extensive experience of building wind farms in Nova Scotia and around the world. In addition, the green hydrogen and ammonia production plant will be developed in partnership with Black & Veatch. It is a world-renowned engineering, procurement and construction company.

These wind power projects will help increase the amount of wind-generated electricity on Nova Scotia Power’s grid. This brings the province closer to its target of selling 80% renewable energy by 2030. Any surplus green power generated by EverWind can be used by Nova Scotia Power. This will offer cost benefits through tax credits for renewable energy production.

EverWind: a wind of change towards green hydrogen and social reconciliation in Nova Scotia

EverWind is also developing a green hydrogen project in Newfoundland and Labrador, and has signed a memorandum of understanding to lease additional land for the construction of 2 GW of wind power capacity. The company is committed to working closely with local communities and indigenous partners to ensure meaningful engagement and promote social and economic reconciliation.

The acquisition of these wind farms in Nova Scotia strengthens the province’s position as a leader in green fuels. These projects will contribute to job creation, local economic stimulation and the transition to a clean, renewable energy source. EverWind is committed to working with local communities and indigenous peoples to ensure meaningful social and economic reconciliation as part of these developments.
